ARTIST . AUTHOR . ADVENTURER
Crystal was born and raised in the Seattle/Tacoma area of Washington State, where her journey began. She moved to Southern California in 2005 intending to escape the gloom, yet misses the lush beauty of her beloved home-state.
The majority of Crystal's experience was in marketing and advertising until she started remodeling homes as a hobby. Soon, she fell in love with the whole process, from construction to design and made it her full-time occupation. Living in Costa Rica, commercial fishing in Alaska, and brine shrimp harvesting on the Great Salt Lake were part of her many adventures.
It's very important for Crystal to give back. She strives to donate and participate in worthy causes as much as possible. She's hosted and served as art committee leader for major organizations to benefit cancer support and research, and to raise awareness for mental illness, working with many renowned artists and personalities.
It used to be impossible for Crystal to sit still, however, a long bout with a rare form of cancer taught her to slow down and embrace the simple things. As it became more difficult to be physically active, she began to paint as an outlet, finding oil painting extremely therapeutic in her coping and healing process.
Creative expression has brought Crystal much needed happiness and peace, igniting a whole new adventure in her life. Her works have been exhibited and featured from Seattle to Manhattan to Hollywood, as well as film and TV. In November 2011, she published 'Three Seasons by Andi Christel' inspired by her tumultuous and colorful life.
